I wouldn't say extreme patience, but patience nonetheless.Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the website to function properly. But I know some people really don't like having to wait. I like the idea of just popping in for a few minutes to an hour each day to then in a few days be able to advance. It's very likely that at some point (but at least not for me by a slim margin 50-60 hours into the game) you will get timegated and it'll take a few days of dailies and fully exploring map areas to be strong enough to beat a boss. Doing certain actions daily/weekly helps slowly but surely progress farther into the game, and are somewhat essential. With the og game, there's very much an end point you can progress to and then put the game down forever after. The question is whether or not you can stomach having to wait for new story content and having daily/weekly tasks to do, as in, whether or not that's a gameplay experience you're comfortable with.
As a plus, the story goes much, much deeper this time around, which I enjoy. I'm by no means an expert, but I did play the original Octopath Traveler thoroughly up until the final boss (still haunts me that I gave up there lol), and I can say that Champions of the Continent is very much still an Octopath game.
